FROM FEBRUARY WE SELL PLANTS, SEE 831400)
A perennial, wild member of the onion family. The plant still occurs (rarely) in moist shady places (deciduous forests) and its broad leaves with white, spherical inflorescences (30-40 cm high) are of surprising beauty! You plant them best in a (partially) shaded spot, the soil type does not matter much although calcareous soil is most appreciated. Leaves and bulbs are finely chopped and used in soups, salads, quark, and cheese. The flowers (edible even when ripe) are a bit spicier than the leaves, but in moderation, they make a nice addition to salads. Wild garlic is delicious in pesto and can be used in all possible ways instead of garlic, the taste is milder. Worth mentioning is its medicinal effect in many areas, including arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
When foraging, pay attention to the onion smell, as the leaves resemble the poisonous leaves of Lily of the Valley, Arum, and Autumn Crocus.
WE SUPPLY VERY HEALTHY BULBS, USUALLY WITH MULTIPLE GROWTH POINTS.
