ORGANICALLY GROWN POTATOES.
(2012) Agrico introduced this potato blight-resistant spud (Phytophthora). The naming after Carolus Clusius (Charles de l' Écluse), born in Ghent, who first cultivated potatoes in the Hortus gardens of Leiden around 1588, is apt. The Pieperpad naming contest has paid off! This mid-early potato is quite floury with yellow flesh and a beautiful, yellow and pink skin and round (shallow) eyes. The tubers can be stored for a long time and are valued as both table and frying potatoes.

MID-EARLY ORGANIC VARIETY.
Because the potato plant stores many offered substances in its tubers, it is important for the principled organic grower to have "clean" organic starting material. An early variety primarily means that it grows quickly and is therefore harvestable early. The planting time is actually the same as later varieties (April). However, to achieve an extra early harvest, these varieties are often planted earlier (mid-March with foil protection or even from January under glass). Early varieties are less susceptible to the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Although the epidemic occurs earlier and earlier: plant sparsely and fertilize with potassium. Pre-sprouting in light or in a large pot can be done earlier. Do not place them in too wet a spot, but well in the sun. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm; we recommend maintaining 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
