A sturdy, long-lasting ornamental cucumber, with a few firm, short prickles. The fruits are oval-round, about 4 cm in size, dark green with light green stripes, just like a large bur cucumber.
GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO CUCUMBERS:
Cucumbers, which produce long vines, should be pruned regularly. For outdoor cultivation, a reasonably warm summer is required (depending on the variety), while all varieties grow well in the greenhouse. Sometimes it is advisable to let the plant grow outdoors if fruit set fails! Cucumbers are usually harvested unripe, unless the skin becomes particularly attractive when ripe. Unripe fruits are sliced and used raw in salads, while ripe fruits can be scooped out like a melon. Many small cucurbits or (extremely) young harvested fruits are eaten as gherkins (pickled) or as a healthy snack with a drink or meal. Please refer to the individual description of our varieties and cultivars, as some are for ornamental purposes only and are NOT edible!
