No. 12: Summer Delight

❝

Of course... we begrudge you those hours behind a good book or "couch potato-ing" with an exciting film. I'm just giving you a few ideas to keep your green thumb active!

The room as a breeding ground

More and more people are enjoying indoor cultivation. You can easily grow herbs and microgreens in a pot or on a mat in a bright spot. Harvest young and start again: deliciously fresh and a beautiful and healthy addition to your dishes!

Growing sprouts (i.e., without soil or mat) requires a bit more technique. We have a simple rinsing device, the Bioset, and it works fantastically, but success depends on the regularity with which you rinse the seeds. The fully automatic Vitaseed Sprouting Drum is ideal for this, a small version of professional sprouting drums, guaranteeing success, just take a look.

Bright enough

Light is needed for indoor cultivation, I've mentioned that before. In winter, the days are short, and behind the window, you already lose 50% of the light on the other side of that window. Light ensures that your plants (for example, your freshly germinating seeds) become compact and sturdy. That's why with too little light, your plants become long and thin. We have a wide range of very good and effective plant lighting in our assortment, economical and efficient, just take a look.

Wave goodbye!

The past few weeks, I've been busy preparing for the next bulb season. While I always love looking at all those beautiful tulips, daffodils, and other spring-flowering bulbs, it's always quite a lot of work! But it's done now, and I hope you can fully enjoy them starting in September.

Additionally, last week I harvested my onions and garlic, and I'm really proud of my red onions. Normally, we never have much luck with onions in the garden here, but this time it just worked! Now I'm letting them dry, and soon I'll be enjoying them.

This weekend, I think I'll just lie on a fan and maybe go to a swimming pool with some friends. Although I have a feeling all of Dordrecht will be there too… So we'll see!
