No. 1: The annual problem…

❝

Of course... we'd love for you to spend those hours with a good book or "lounge around" watching an exciting movie. I'm just giving you some ideas to keep your fingers green!

The room as a breeding ground

More and more people are enjoying growing plants indoors; you can easily grow herbs and microgreens in a pot or on a mat in a bright spot. Harvest them young and start again: wonderfully fresh and a beautiful, healthy addition to your dishes!

Growing sprouts (i.e., without soil or a mat) requires a bit more technique. We have a simple rinsing device, the Bioset, and it works fantastic, but success depends on how regularly you rinse the seeds. The fully automatic Vitaseed Germination Drum, a smaller version of professional germination drums, is ideal for this—success guaranteed, just take a look.

Light enough

Light is needed for growing indoors, I've talked about that before. In winter, the days are short, and behind the window, you already lose 50% of the light on the other side of that window. Light ensures that your plants (for example, your freshly germinated seeds) become compact and sturdy. That's why your plants become long and thin with too little light. We have a lot of very good plant lighting in our assortment, economical and effective, just take a look.

Wave goodbye!

The past few weeks, I’ve been busy preparing for the next bulb season. While I always love looking at all those beautiful tulips, daffodils, and other spring-flowering bulbs, it’s always quite a lot of work! But it’s done now, and I hope you can fully enjoy them starting in September.

Additionally, last week I harvested my onions and garlic, and I’m really proud of my red onions. Normally, we never have much luck with onions in the garden, but this time it actually worked! Now I’m letting them dry a bit, and soon I’ll be enjoying them.

This weekend, I think I’ll relax with a fan and maybe go to a swimming pool with some friends. Although I have a feeling that all of Dordrecht will be there too… So, we’ll see!
