No. 18: Don't panic!

❝

Of course... we're happy for you to spend those hours with a good book or "couch-potatoing" in front of an exciting movie. I'm just giving you a few ideas to keep your fingers green!

The room as a breeding ground

More and more people are enjoying indoor cultivation. You can easily grow herbs and microgreens in a pot or on a mat in a bright spot. Harvest young and start again: wonderfully fresh and a beautiful and healthy addition to your dishes!

Growing sprouts (i.e., without soil or a mat) requires a bit more technique. We have a simple flushing device, the Bioset, and it works fantastically, but success depends on the regularity with which you flush the seeds. The fully automatic Vitaseed Sprouting Drum, a small version of professional sprouting drums, is ideal for this; success is guaranteed, just take a look.

Light enough

Light is needed for growing indoors, I've talked about that before. In winter, the days are short, and behind a window, you already lose 50% of the light on the other side of that window. Light ensures that your plants (for example, your freshly germinated seeds) grow compact and sturdy. That's why your plants become long and thin with too little light. We have a lot of very good plant lighting in our assortment, economical and effective, just take a look.

Wave goodbye!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been busy preparing for the next bulb season. While I always love looking at all those beautiful tulips, daffodils, and other spring-flowering bulbs, it’s always a lot of work! But it’s done now, and I hope you can fully enjoy them from September onwards.

Last week, I also harvested my onions and garlic, and I’m really proud of my red onions. Normally, we never have much luck with onions in the garden, but this time it actually worked! Now I’m letting them dry a bit, and soon I’ll be enjoying them.

This weekend, I think I’ll relax on a fan and maybe go to a swimming pool with some friends. Although I have a feeling that all of Dordrecht will be there too… So, we’ll see!
